The city of Brasilia hoped to become, from its very architecture, the expression of a modern urban conception and an egalitarian society. However, neither the workers hired to pursue this project, nor the constant migratory flow that took place from the beginning, fitted in the governmentâs plan. In 1971, began what was known as the âCampaign to Eradicate Invadersâ. The parents of director Adirley Queirós were amongst the thousands of people displaced towards Brazilian outskirts, into a suburb that borrowed the campaign initials and was named Ceilândia. Queirós, member of the first generation of the âceilandesesâ, was âan offspring of the contradiction that resulted in being a part of Brasilia without being from Brasiliaâ. Together with other locals, the director reflects about the history, the transformations, and the future of this place where the hypocritical official jingle âA cidade é uma só!â is no longer heard.

It is about a primary school in the commune of Saint-Ãtienne-sur-Usson, Puy-de-Dôme, France, the population of which is just over 200. The school has one small class of mixed ages (from four to twelve years), with a dedicated teacher, Georges Lopez, who shows patience and respect for the children as we follow their story through a single school year.
Kiarostami presents two cases for talking heads to evaluate in terms of morality, rights and responsibilities. Case One: Your son is in class, sitting in the back row. His teacher is writing on the board. A restless student in the back row makes a lot of noise. Not knowing who the culprit is, the teacher makes all the children sitting in the last two rows stay outside of the class until the weekend, unless they tell him who made the noise. After a few days spent outside of the classroom, your son relents and tattles on the boy who made the noise, so he can go back in and continue learning. Was he in the right? Case Two: The other students from the back row wait out the rest of the week outside of the class, before returning. Were they in the right?
Dr. Allen Seward (Robert Francis) is assigned to a western cavalry post where his predecessors had been drunks and slackers. Francis would make only two more films before being killed in a 1955 plane crash.

Shot on location in New Yorkâs West Village, focuses on the dilemmas of motherhood, such as marriage, work, and self, shown in the trials and tribulations of one pivotal day.
Yet another version of the classic epic, with enough variation to make it interesting. The story is the same, but some of the characters are quite different from the usual, in particular Uma Thurman's very special maid Marian. The photography is also great, giving the story a somewhat darker tone.

While delivering food in a forest area in Andhra Pradesh, impoverished Narasimha is held against his will by a band of Naxalites led by Velu, and forced to join them. Together they begin to look after the Christmas traditional that Nikolas has begun. When the aged Iisakki has to leave Nikolas and move away, the tradition of Christmas presents is once again at risk. With a simple âHello, everybody,â television writer and stand-up comedian Louis C.K. opens his latest live show, Hilarious. This harmless salutation is the least-controversial thing that comes out of Louis C.K.âs mouth as he turns rants on everyday subjects (impatient people, his weight, fatherhood) into hilarious, expletive-laden diatribes where nothing is sacredânot even (gasp!) his children. Who else can name-check Ray Charles and Adolph Hitler in the same breath and elicit a chorus of raucous laughter? Louis C.K. says whatâs on his mind, even at the risk of offending, but his âI donât give a f**kâ attitude makes his irreverent brand of humor especially endearing and relatable. His self-deprecating style elevates his filmed live show to a form of therapy, where we, too, can get comic relief from some pretty warped subjects. At one point, Louis C.K. asks, âWhere do you draw the line?â With him, there is no line.
