Rather than work with Turek, OtÃk decides to accept an offer of employment in Prague, but finds he does not fit in to the city life. After discovering that the transfer of OtÃk to Prague was a trick by a crooked politician to get a deal on OtÃk's large inherited house, Pávek agrees to give OtÃk a second chance and retrieves him from the city to resume their work together.

While the original novel centered on the protagonist Kvido from his conception through his adulthood, first time director Petr Nikolaev and screenwriter Jan Novak changed the focus to his parents Milena, an extremely self-effacing lawyer who acts on stage in her spare time, and Ales, a rather aimless government worker who tends to drift wherever the wind takes him. The lives of Ales and Milena change dramatically following the Russian invasion of Prague in 1968.

Berlin, 1989. Sascha is a young East German border guard and Franzi is a lively young West German woman who's just moved into a flat next to Sascha's watchtower at the Berlin Wall. The desperate BursÃk sent Kajda to sell his mother's dresses to get money for food. In a second-hand shop, Kajda met his first love.
Thirty-year-old Javier (Diego Peretti) is a surgeon and in his free time works as a disc jockey. He decides to marry and move to the United States with his girlfriend MarÃa (Soledad Villamil). They make all their plans; they wed, and then MarÃa is the first to move and make contacts in their new home, while Javier packs up in Argentina and prepares to start his new life in the States. While he is on the way to the airport, he receives a call from MarÃa telling him that she is confused and has been seeing someone else.
Due to a revolution in his country, King Shahdov comes to New York - almost broke. To get some money he goes to TV, making commercials and meets the child from communist parents. Due to this he is suddenly a suspected as a communist himself and has to face one of McCarthy's hearings.
Kannan and Dasappan are two rowdies in their village. Shathrugnan. a newcomer, is in love with Dasappan' s sister, Devootty, but she is not interested in him. Shathru joins Kannan's and Dasappan's firm, KD & Company, as the manager, in an attempt to win the love of Devootty. KD & Company keeps as hostage a music troupe who comes to their village to perform. The main singer of that troupe, Sangeetha, gets expelled from her home because of this and Kannan and Dasappan give her refuge, at the insistence of Devootty. Meenakshi and Kannan are in love. But due to some misunderstanding, Dasappan falls in love with Meenakshi and Sangeetha falls in love with Kannan. Shathru takes the responsibility of sorting it out and linking Dasappan with Sangeetha. In the chaos and confusions that follows, he manages to be victorious and wins his lady love Devootty too.
