The film has had a tumultuous history: it was subjected to cuts after the violent response of the premiere audience in 1939, and the original negative was destroyed during World War II; it wasnât reconstructed until 1959.

Ce qui est, admettons-le, un peu hâtif. Reprenons. Ils se marient. Et puis après ? Après, une pseudo Bonne Fée plus très fraîche rapplique dare-dare dans le paysage. Elle en pince sévère pour le Prince, c'est rien de le dire. Elle le veut, elle l'aura, morbleu. Un revers de baguette magique et voilà qu'apparaît la Belle au Bois Dormant. Dormant donc. Le Prince Charmant, obligeant, la réveille d'un baiser. Funeste erreur. Dès lors, rien ne va plus : la chasse à la Blanche Neige est déclarée ouverte, Cendrillon déboule au débotté, les Sept Nains s'énervent tout vert et un ogre gravement sous-alimenté met les orteils dans le plat. Déjà , on soupçonne le rififi olympique, le conte de fées qui part en quenouille...
Gilles Gabriel, chanteur des 80's en plein come-back, est tué dans un accident de voiture causé par Jean-Christian Ranu, comptable à la COGIP. Mais Gilles Gabriel n'est pas totalement mort : son esprit bien vivant a atterri dans le corps de Ranu, qui ne comprend pas qui est cette personne qui parle dans sa tête.

Tout irait pour le mieux jusquâà ce quâun vent mauvais apporte son lot dâadversité compromettant sérieusement la cohésion du groupe.

Patrick Lechat, dont la situation financière est au plus mal, apprend la mort de Jo, son père, qu'il n'a jamais connu. Le défunt laisse derrière lui une fortune colossale, qui revient malheureusement à son demi-frère, Albert Moulinot. Patrick lui rend visite au fin fond de la Dordogne, afin de tenter d'obtenir une partie de l'héritage. Rien de plus simple, puisqu'Albert déteste l'argent, tout comme le travail d'ailleurs. Pourtant, Patrick n'est pas au bout de ses peines. Il doit en effet convaincre Albert de le suivre à Paris, où il signera sa renonciation à l'intégralité de l'héritage. Mais le vieil homme, d'un naturel odieux, est bien décidé à rendre la vie impossible à ce neveu qu'il méprise...
